This week I have felt my stress level rise as I enter “crunch time” at school and race to get all of my schoolwork finished on time. All this work comes at the worst time-- springtime! As the warm weather ushers in spring, it’s been hard to lock myself away in a library smelling of dusty books.
Along with the grass and flowers, the spirit awakens in a special way this time of year. Our spirit is renewed, our senses heightened. In fact, spring is the time of year that many people look for a new romantic interest. As the spirit is revived, people search to find a way to respond, so they look for that “special someone.” The problem is that another human being can never fully satisfy the spirit.
God calls out this spring through the sounds and sights of His creation. It is an invitation to enjoy the beauty of nature and hear what it says of the Creator. As the birds cheerfully announce the dawn of each new day with a song and the grass begins to turn a beautiful, vibrant color of green, God reveals His eternal love; a love that is constantly calling out to us to get past our busyness and spend time walking and talking with Him.
Throughout the week, take time to meditate on the following verses from Psalm 19. Make time to get alone with God in His creation. Take an evening walk, spend time in your garden, watch a sunrise from your porch, or simply sit and listen to the birds sing.
The heavens tell of the glory of God
The skies display his marvelous craftsmanship.
Day after day they continue to speak;
Night after night they make him known.
They speak without a sound or a word;
Their voice is silent in the skies;
Yet their message has gone out to all the earth,
and their words to all the world.
Psalm 19:1-4(NLT)

(Here is a paraphrase of the above verses that I thought you would enjoy reading)
God’s glory is on tour in the skies,
God-craft on exhibit across the horizon.
Madame Day holds classes every morning,
Professor Night lectures each evening.
Their words aren’t heard,
Their voices aren’t recorded,
But their silence fills the earth:
Unspoken truth is spoken everywhere.
Psalm 19:1-4 (The Message)
Have a wonderful week,
Stephanie
