Love So Amazing

Some of you may be aware that I'm working on my doctoral project. I'm researching and writing on a topic I've been exploring for ten years on a very personal level. Because of this, I've been reading through old journals for my thoughts over the years, but I keep finding huge lapses of time. I decided to pull out my songs from the months/years missing to fill the gaps since that is another way I write. The following song is one of my favorites. I wrote it at 2 a.m. sitting with a guitar in a church sanctuary in Juneau.

Love So Amazing
(Verse 1)
Every hour of every day
I hear your voice cry out my name
Calling me to leave behind
This little world I call mine

All my hopes, my dreams, my fears
Tightly bound I’ve held them near
Comfort and security they bring

Hiding behind walls of doubt
You reach down to pull me out
Just in time I start to breathe

(Chorus)
Love so amazing
It has a hold
It won’t let me go

Life changing
I’m being transformed
As grace overflows

Love has a hold, so amazing

(Verse 2)
Every hour of every day
I hear your voice cry out my name
Calling me to leave behind
This little world I call mine

Looking at this shattered soul
Knowing you will make it whole
I step out into the unknown

Heal the wounds, as I forgive
Help this heart live again
I’m ready to move on
