A Fearful Choice

A.W. Tozer once said, "The more you fear man, the less you fear God and the more you fear God, the less you fear man."

Exodus 1:6-22, tells the story of two midwives who had to decide whom they feared more: Pharaoh or God? Pharaoh ordered them to kill all Hebrew boys. Dare they kill God’s next generation of Hebrews, or do they refuse, risking their own lives? These God fearing women went against Pharaoh’s orders and God greatly blessed them.

In today’s culture, you have daily choices that show whom you fear. Do you obey your boss and lie, or do you honor God and risk your job? Do you go with culture and favor the privileged, or do you go with God and risk mockery for befriending society's less valuable?

Life is easier when you bow in fear to those around you, but being a Christian is about bowing before Jesus. Life may not be easier, but it will be better lived with a holy fear of God.

Blessings,

Stephanie
