Terrors of the Night

Several years ago, I went to a horror movie with some friends. That night after the movie, we decided to go scare ourselves even more by running around in the woods. Evidently, we were not the only ones with this brilliant idea because we ran into other people in the dark, which really freaked us out. Needless to say, when I finally made it back home, the events of that evening kept me from a peaceful night’s sleep.

It seems to be when the day fades and the darkness blankets the sky that our minds give into the terrors of the night. It is then that we are often haunted with doubt, insecurity, fear, hopelessness, “what if” scenarios, and past failures. The terrorization can last through the early hours of the morning robbing us of a restful night.

With the body and mind exhausted, the night seems to be a great opportunity for the enemy to come in and attack. That is why the spirit must constantly be renewed with God’s Word. The next time the terrors of the night creep in to haunt you, turn to God’s Word and allow Him to be your armor and protection.

He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day.
~Psalm 91:4-5

Blessings,

Stephanie

You are so right. Without God and the Bible your life would be like a vapor in the wind. I can do all things through Christ whom strengtheth me. Phillipians 4:13
