As a kid I used to play the game of LIFE with my siblings. The point of LIFE is to see who has the most stuff in the end. It always made me mad when I did not finish in the mansion with a great retirement at the end of the game; it meant I was not successful in life.
Now that I am in the mist of real life, it seems to be nothing like the game of LIFE. People are not required to give me thousands of dollars at major life events, and degrees are not handed to me without potential debt and years of study.
For the game of LIFE to resemble real life, perhaps a few new spaces should be added to the board: car problems, family arguments, depression, death, divorce, unemployment, and sickness, just to name a few. Granted, such game spaces would probably damage the psyche of a child, so I will not advocate a remake of the classic game. However, I wonder if life often gets treated like the game of LIFE?
At the end of life is it the size of your bank account that you leave behind that matters, or is it the people you pour your life into? After you die, the people whose lives you poured into remain as a legacy; their lives testify that you once existed.
As Christ poured his life out for you, pour your life out for Him into other people. In life you can focus only on the material possessions that you will leave behind, or you can focus on leaving Jesus in the lives of those that remain after you die. Remember, real life is not a game of LIFE.
Blessings,
Stephanie

Thought provoking isn't it? Thanks for the reminder of what really counts. In the midst of a busy schedule of classes, coursework, & work... the underlying premise for living can be lost.
Keep writing, God has gifted you with a means to reach people's hearts & draw them into a closer walk with Christ.

This is so absolutely true, but so difficult to keep it in perspective as we try to make ends meet from month to month. Thanks for the reminder.
